MP Sion: I leaked your plan (Birmingham Mail page 1): Erdington MP Sion Simon claims he leaked BCC plans to cut city youth services by £1 million. Story is a follow-up on comments reported last week by Cllr Les Lawrence at Scrutiny meeting calling on council officer responsible for leak to “consider his position”.

Xmas market won’t be drei! (Birmingham Post, page 5): BCC dismisses claims that the German market might not get a liquor licence. Story based on the fact that the market is bigger this year because of its success, but a licence hasn’t yet been obtained to cover the extended area further down New Street.

Council rap over jobless (Birmingham Mail, page 6): Communities Secretary John Denham enters debate over Working Neighbourhoods Fund, criticising underspend as putting national/local government partnership at risk.
