Hostile offer for Cadbury (Birmingham, page 46, plus all national and regional media): US firm Kraft Foods have put in a £9.8 billion hostile bid to take over Cadbury to shareholders. This is lower than original bid put to the Board in September which was rejected, sparking industry pundits to speculate that is unlikely to be successful.
Birmingham children’s service under fire (BBC Midlands Today)): Report based on Inside Out episode tonight in which Birmingham is criticised for taking children of a woman with learning difficulties into care. Colin Tucker interviewed.
