Date: Thursday 10 June
Time: 1pm
Venue: Victoria Square (meet at the main entrance to the Council House)
Details: Join the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Len Gregory on a culinary tour of the world as he officially opens the city’s second International Food Fair on Thursday June 10.
The Lord Mayor will formally open the 10-day event before joining journalists for a taster session of food from Britain and across the globe.
Following the huge success of last year’s inaugural event, the 2010 event (June 10-20) will feature around 120 stalls showcasing food and drink from a wide range of countries, including France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Australia and the Far East.
Last year’s event featured 60 stalls and attracted 250,000 visitors, boosting the city economy to the tune of £6million.
This year’s International Food Fair is once again being staged in partnership with Heart FM, European market specialists Geraud UK and Birmingham market event and equipment specialists Event Men.
The Lord Mayor, market organisers and traders will be available for interview at the launch event
