Customer First shortlisted for national award

Birmingham City Council’s Customer First programme has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

The programme has been named as one of the finalists in the Customer Service gategory of the Guardian Public Services Awards - the winners of which will be named during a ceremony in London on November 23.

Customer First, one of the city council’s nine Business Transformation workstreams, is overhauling the way services are delivered to citizens, the overall goal being to increase customer satisfaction from a benchmark of 59 per cent to 85 per cent.

Cllr Paul Tilsley, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council, has spoken about the reasons why he thinks the programme has caught the eye of judges.
