Diwali is one of the biggest events in the Indian calendar. The Hindu Council of Birmingham, with the support of Birmingham City Council, will be hosting celebrations in the city’s popular National Indoor Arena (NIA).

Fireworks Spectacular
For the best and safest bonfire night in Birmingham, get ready for a night out under the stars at Pype Hayes Park. There’s plenty to do before the fireworks, a traditional bonfire – experience the thrills and spills of the funfair, warm up with some snacks and soak up the glow of the bonfire.

Birmingham Christmas Parade
Real reindeer, elves and Christmas pantomime characters will be delighting children of all ages as Santa takes a break from his busy schedule to visit Birmingham and turn on the Christmas lights.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market
Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market has become a huge favourite with both residents and visitors to the city from all over the UK and Europe. It is now the largest outdoor Christmas Market in the country. Now in its 10th year, the Frankfurt Christmas Market is the centrepiece of the city’s annual Christmas events calendar.

Birmingham’s own traders offer an entirely different selection of beautiful hand-crafted items at the Christmas Craft Fair, created by local artisans, as well as ethnic goods imported from all over the world.

Meet Santa in his Grotto
A chance to meet Santa and his elves at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.
Date/times: November 27 – December 19 (weekends only). 11am – 4pm Saturday, 12.30 – 4.30pm Sunday

Thomas Vale Pantomime Horse Grand National
Participants in fancy dress take part in a charity race, cheered along by the crowds as they negotiate jumps and obstacles in their bid to become the champion.
