A taste of the Wild West is heading to Birmingham as residents pull on their cowboy boots and Stetson hats for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Barn Dance in Stirchley next week.
The barn dance kicks off at 7.30pm on Friday 29th October 2010 at Church of the Ascension, Stirchley Parish Church, Pineapple Grove, Stirchley, with tickets only £10 each and just £5 for children.
Dancers, who are encouraged to come in full cowboy-style dress, will be kept on their toes by caller Barry Jones. There will also be a raffle on the night and a bar available.
Including in the ticket price is a delicious fish and chip supper, and all proceeds form the night will go to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal.
Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Len Gregory, who will be at the dance with the Lady Mayoress Mrs Gillian Gregory, said: “This will be a delightful evening of entertainment for families of all ages, and will also help us to raise money and much needed awareness for four deserving causes.”
The charities chosen by the Lord Mayor for 2010/11 are Birmingham PHABCamps, the Stroke Association Birmingham Branch, BID Services and the Burns Centre at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
