We have received confirmation that the A34 has now reopened for normal traffic.

Due to subsidence on the main A34 Stratford Road in Sparkhill, the road has been closed between Formans Road and Nansen Road to enable repairs to take place.

Strategic diversions for non-local traffic both in and out of the city are Fox Hollies Road and the Warwick Road. For local traffic, the following diversions apply: towards the city use College Road, Woodlands Road and Showell Green Lane. Out of city use Formans Road, Reddings Lane and Shaftmoor Lane.

The Birmingham Resilience Team have been advised that the road closure on the A34 Stratford Road will continue into the morning rush hour on Friday 22nd October.  This is to allow emergency work to continue on the carriageway.  The work is expected to be completed on Friday afternoon.
