Cllr Paul Tilsley, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council and Chairman of the Digital Birmingham Partnership, has commented on news that the Government is set to announce plans for super-fast broadband to be made accessible to every household in the UK by 2015.
He said: “We have long championed the benefits of a better digital infrastructure for Birmingham, which means we warmly welcome the proposals that are being put forward by the Government.
“One of the main ways in which we can improve the educational, social and economic prospects of citizens is by embracing cutting-edge technology.
“A better broadband connection will underpin this – and I am sure Birmingham will make the most of the opportunity that this proposal brings.”
