Agreement to suspend industrial action

An agreement has been today reached between Birmingham City Council and the Trades Unions which will see the suspension of the industrial action currently affecting the city’s fleet and waste management service.

The Joint Trades Unions have agreed to suspend industrial action which includes the half-day strikes which were due tomorrow (Thursday 13th) and Friday (14th January) and ‘work to rule’.

The announcement follows two days of intensive talks.

Talks are continuing with a view to reaching a successful conclusion to the dispute subject to agreement by both sides and a membership vote.
