Application form for third sector funding – clarification

Clarification following a media report on the city council’s third sector funding toolkit.

The form that third sector organisations need to fill in is a 10-page application form. Although this is part of a 145-page guidance document, this is for council officers’ internal use but is publicly available to help third sector organisations in their application process if needed.

This system means that third sector organisations will only have to provide their background documents once and will ensure continuity across the council.

Every year the council spends tens of millions of pounds supporting the third sector and we must ensure that every penny of public money given via grant aid can not only be accounted for, but more fundamentally can be shown to have benefited citizens in Birmingham.
