This isn’t a ‘stance’, merely a reflection of the fact that this is the corporate press office for Birmingham City Council.
Check Media Watch any day and you will clearly see we make no attempt to gloss over critical content.
Like any Government or Ministerial website, we reflect the policies and initiatives of the executive and that would be the same whoever controlled the council.
I usually love this website, but I’m surprised at this stance. Our opposition councillors are elected too and are just as much a part of our council. It seems unneccesary to omit their speeches.

This website contains the latest news headlines from Birmingham City Council’s corporate press office. There is nothing misleading about that.
But you’re called “Birmingham Newsroom” not “Birmingham City Council’s PR”. You should consider changing the name of your misleading website.
George,
Thanks for the feedback – birminghamnewsroom.com is the city council’s online press office, which promotes the policies and initiatives of the authority’s executive, of which the Leader and Deputy Leader are members.
Hope this clarifies the situation,
Kris
Why are the opposition speeches not shown?
