Lady Mayoress to abseil for charity

On Sunday 10 April Birmingham’s Lady Mayoress will be abseiling from the roof of House of Fraser in order to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

Friends and colleagues will be joining the Lady Mayoress throughout the day to accompany her in the 120 foot abseil, which will raise funds for PHAB Camps, BID (formerly Birmingham Institute for the Deaf), the Burns Unit at the Children’s Hospital and The Stroke Association.

The Lord Mayor, Councillor Len Gregory said: “This is a fantastic way of raising money for charity. The Lady Mayoress and all those who will be abseiling alongside her have my full support in their endeavours to generate as much sponsorship as possible for four very worthy charities.”

The Lady Mayoress added:  “As soon as I heard that an abseil was being organised by House of Fraser and the Army I was delighted to put my name forward and look forward to being the first to abseil on the day!”
