Birmingham City Council is holding a public consultation on proposals to improve Chester Road between Tyburn Road and M6 Junction 5.
The A452 Chester Road is a major traffic route and forms part of the City Council’s Strategic Highway Network. It provides the strategic link between the M6, A38 and the A47 and is an important access road for key industrial sites and major retail developments.
The proposed improvements would assist the traffic flow and reduce congestion along the route whilst providing improved pedestrian crossing, cycling facilities and benefits to public transport.
The improvements will also assist with access to existing and proposed developments to help continued inward investment. These include Jaguar, GKN, Dunlop and the Fort Development site.
The public consultation will run between 14 May and 24 May, and there will be exhibitions at various locations along the route between Tyburn Road and the M6 Junction 5. The exhibitions will give local people and businesses an opportunity to view the proposals and provide comments. City Council staff will be available to explain the proposals in more detail.

The scheme proposals have been published on the Birmingham City Council website and will also be available for viewing at the locations listed above.
People can respond to the consultation on the website at http://birmingham.gov.uk or by completing a questionnaire form which can be obtained at the exhibitions.
