Arts grants rebuttal

In response to today’s Birmingham Post article: City arts heritage struggles to cope as funding slashed we wish to point out that funding to our arts organisations has not in fact been slashed but maintained at 2011-12 levels for the next two years.

This decision has been taken following detailed consultation and underlines how much we value our arts organisations – both for their contribution to the Birmingham economy and in the way they enhance our everyday lives.

With reference to possible changes to opening times at mac, operational decisions are made by the mac board not Birmingham City Council.
