Kids comedy festival returns to Central Library

Birmingham’s annual comedy festival for kids returns to Central Library with a packed programme of free comedy acts and wacky workshops over the half term holidays.

Gigglefest, which runs from 11 to 18 February, includes animation workshops, magic, potty poets, bonkers balloon modelling, an open mic session and some of the country’s best stand up comedy for kids.

Festival highlights include free animated film making workshops from Small World Animation and stand up comedy for kids from the gagmasters Tiernan Douieb and James Campbell.  Shoofly Theatre’s show for 4 – 7 year olds, Two Four Six Eight! shows youngsters how much fun numbers can be.  It takes place at the Library Theatre on Wednesday 15 February and tickets are available from The Box on 236 4455 at just £3.

Cllr Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture said: “Birmingham City Council’s libraries hold a wide range of free and low cost activities for children and their families throughout the year.  Gigglefest adds to the quality of families’ lives by providing an inspirational, entertaining and educational week of comedy acts and workshops, most of which is free.”
