The result of the referendum asking Birmingham’s citizens if they wish for the city to be governed by an elected mayor is as follows:
YES: 88,085 votes (42.2%)
NO: 120,611 votes (57.8%)
TURNOUT: 28.35%
The no result means the city of Birmingham will continue to be governed by a Council Leader and Cabinet model.
