Kingstanding by-election result

The result of the Kingstanding by-election, held on Thursday 13 February 2014, is as follows:

Graham John Lippiatt – Liberal Democrats – 43 votes

Lorraine Louise Owen – Labour Party Candidate – 1,433 votes

Gary William Sambrook – The Conservative Party Candidate – 1,571 votes

Roger David Tempest – UK Independence Party (UKIP) – 266 votes

Terry Williams – National Front – 33 votes

Rejected votes – 9

Turnout - 19 per cent

Therefore Gary Sambrook is elected as a councillor for the Kingstanding ward.

The new composition of the city council is:

Conservative – 29 seats

Labour – 76 seats

Liberal Democrats – 15 seats
