For the second year running, Birmingham City Council is sponsoring the Online Campaign award at the Midlands Media Awards.
This award will recognise an individual or group that has used social media tools to make a difference.
We’ve now drawn up a shortlist for Thursday’s award and, as this is the People’s Choice award, it’s now up to you.

Would have been nice to at least explain why each of the above campaigns have been nominated or a paragraph about what each one has done/achieved to get a fairer vote, rather than just rely on votes from campaign supporters through nominees efforts solely. Providing links to the websites is not enough. How each nominee achieved their aspirations/goals should be shared and to hear from the beneficiaries perspective as well. These nominations without this is left to a democratic vote with the public with them having to piece together a story, it would have been fairer for all the nominees too. Can you provide this, to help people decide? Anyone can just create their own award platform and invite guest nominees to participate and generate support, we (public votes) need to judge by merits for each of the above to have a fairer reward.
If you were committed enough to set your alarm for 4am then a quick click of the mouse to vote for the 4am Project should be no trouble at all!

We do link to the submissions in full to give more detail.

4am Project FTW
I am not affiliated with the youthslam, but I worked for a school that the team worked in. I’ve seen first hand how the website brings benefit to the young people that the team work with. The Poetry Slam format in schools is a great idea, run by positive and passionate people.
I was told these awards have happened? Can you update the site with the details?!!
Hi Catherine, if you have a look on the post above it shows Youth Slam West Midlands won with 432 votes.
