A38 Kingsbury Road incident - UPDATE

The following closures and diversions are in place following a road traffic collision this morning on the A38 Kingsbury Road:

• A38 Kingsbury Road closed between Tyburn Roundabout (A452 Chester Road) and Midpoint Park
• Diversion route via A452 Chester Road, Eachelhurst Road, Walmley Ash Road and Minworth Roundabout
• Access to Castle Vale via A452 Spitfire Roundabout (Tangmere Drive) or Park Lane

Statement from Birmingham City Council:

“We are deeply saddened by the death of a teenage girl this morning on Kingsbury Road and our thoughts are with her family, friends and all those affected. As a City Council trade waste vehicle was involved in the incident we will be fully co-operating with all investigations.

“We ask for drivers’ patience while we work with the Police to deal with the highways implications in this very sensitive situation.”

Kingsbury Road has now reopened.
