Adoption Messengers Wanted

Birmingham City Council and Birmingham City Football Club are inviting people in the city to help find adoptive families for Birmingham's 'looked after' children.

This Sunday (22nd April) Birmingham City Council are urging people to come and walk for a good cause – to raise awareness for adoption.

“For this walkathon we aren't asking you to raise money but instead, your sponsors will donate their email addresses and become Adoption Messengers. These Adoption Messengers will receive emails regularly from Birmingham City Council raising awareness about adoption and asking them to forward the message to all their contacts,” a council spokesperson said.

Birmingham City Football Club are working in partnership with Birmingham City Council to organize this event in the hope somebody somewhere will get in touch to find out more about adopting a child. The walkathon is free to enter and Birmingham City Football Club will be offering special prizes to randomly selected winners as well as to the participants that 'raise' the most valid email addresses.

The walkathon takes place on Sunday 22nd April, 10.30am at Birmingham City Football Club. More information about adoption and the Big Adoption Walkabout can be found by either visiting or phoning 0121 303 7575.
