All set for Eid Mela

Kings Heath Park will play host to Birmingham's free annual Eid Mela festival later this month.

Celebrating Islamic culture, the July 19 event features entertainment, sport, art and food and will feature live music and performances from top UK and International acts.

There will also be kabbadi matches, crafts, market stalls and delicious food to tempt your tastebuds.

Cllr Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture said: “Birmingham City Council is proud to support this celebration of the city's diverse Muslim communities.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for all of the city's residents and visitors to get together in the open air and enjoy the free family-friendly entertainment.”

Cllr Zaker Choudhry, Chair of Birmingham Eid Mela Committee, added: “The mela is free and open to all regardless of faith or culture. I encourage all of the city's communities to come and enjoy this vibrant and colourful celebration of Asian culture and music.”
