A report outlining the progress being made in the delivery of the national Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI) by Birmingham City Council acting as the accountable body, goes to Cabinet on Monday 16 September.

Cllr Tahir Ali, cabinet member for Development, Jobs and Skills, said: “I am very pleased that the team at Birmingham City Council has shown they have the necessary experience to administer and manage £245m of national AMSCI funding.

“This funding will create and safeguard thousands of jobs nationally and 1,000 across the region in the automotive and aerospace supply chain.

“It will give a real boost to the local and regional economy, supporting local companies who are at the top of their industries and eager to expand and will create lots of new, highly skilled jobs.”
