Birmingham bidding to become BBC innovation hub

A delegation led by Birmingham City Council and The Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) will today meet Director General Tony Hall to discuss the BBC’s future in the city.

The delegation will present the Director General with a report from the LEP’s Creative City Partnership outlining ideas for future work.

Proposals include:

  • Birmingham to become the BBC’s digital innovation test-bed
  • joint working on skills and training for the sector
  • a centre of excellence for Radio Drama and a future technologies hub
