Birmingham Contract update (Feb 23)

By on 23/02/2011 in Meetings/Minutes, News

Following the Cabinet meeting on 14th February 2011, I have drawn up some proposals regarding a protection plan for those employees that would be affected by the Cabinet decision to end payment of allowances for alternate shift, unsociable hours and weekend working.

The protection plan was discussed in private agenda at Monday's scrutiny meeting (21st February).

Scrutiny has 'called in' the report on Birmingham Contract, this means that Cabinet needs to reconsider the Birmingham Contract at a future meeting where the concerns and suggestions of Scrutiny will be considered.

At that Cabinet meeting I will put forward my suggested proposals. Until that Cabinet meeting takes place, none of the proposals relating to the Birmingham Contract can be implemented.

Cllr Alan Rudge, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Human Resources
