Birmingham school pupils name road for latest housing scheme

Children from New Hall Junior School in Sutton Coldfield helped to celebrate the latest Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust (BMHT) housing development after they named the new road for a bungalow scheme ‘Hall Croft’.

Four two-bedroom dormer bungalows and one single story two-bedroom bungalow were completed two weeks ago and the new residents have just moved in.

Birmingham’s cabinet member for Housing and Homes, Cllr Peter Griffiths, said: “Earlier this year we passed a significant milestone having built 2,000 homes and we are currently the largest provider of affordable homes per annum in the Midlands.

“This new development of bungalows shows what we can achieve with our partners – contractors Jessup Brothers Ltd built these homes - and it has been lovely to involve local children in naming a road in their local community too.”
