The search is on to find Birmingham's favourite poet - so get voting now.

The BBC recently ran a nationwide campaign to find the nation's favourite poet (www.bbc.co.uk/poetryseason).

Now Birmingham Library and Archive Services aims to discover the city's favourite poem from the national shortlist of 30.

Will Birmingham’s choice be the same as the rest of the country?

Libraries across Birmingham stock a wide range of poetry books, so why not check out your favourite poet at your local library? You can also search the library catalogue at www.birmingham.gov.uk/libcat.

To cast your vote, go to www.bgfl.org/ourfavouritepoet Just click on your favourite and leave your name, no registration or further details are required. You can also leave comments about your choice and follow additional comments via the RSS feed.

The BBC vote closed on Tuesday September 1. However the Birmingham voting will close on September 30. The winner will be announced on the website on National Poetry Day on Thursday 8 October 2009.
