Birmingham’s nightlife hot spots rewarded

Birmingham's bustling nightlife has been rewarded in the  (20143/14). Eleven of the city's top spots have been listed as places to go in the second city and include bars, pubs, hotels and nightclubs.

The scheme is the biggest in the country championing licensed premises that provide a safe and enjoyable night out.

The Best Bar None award winners are:

  • Overall Winner Square Peg
  • Best Nightclub The Nightingale
  • Best Hotel Bar Briar Rose
  • Best Student/University Bar Joe’s Bar at Birmingham University
  • Best Independent Bar -  The Jam House
  • Best City Centre Bar – Gosta Green
  • Best City Centre Pub – The Square Peg
  • Best Suburban Bar – The Mare Pool
  • Best Suburban Pub  – The Towers
  • Best Restaurant Bar – The Toby Carvery Sutton Park
  • Community Safety Partnership Award – Bar Risa
  • Free Radio Peoples Choice – The Red Lion Kings Heath

The award scheme recognises licensed premises in the city for their regulatory compliance.

Best Bar None is a national award scheme supported by the Home Office, and helps at all levels within licensed premises. The scheme shows effective promotion of the licensing objectives, and in doing so, it promotes a vibrant and attractive economy within the City of Birmingham.
