in News with 0 Comments

A spectacular fireworks display will light up the skies over Birmingham on New Year’s Eve as the city bids farewell to 2015 and welcomes 2016.

Visible from Centenary Square, the five-minute fireworks display, supplied by Pains, is digitally fired and will feature vibrant colours and memorable, breath-taking sequences.

The event, which will run from midnight to 12.05am, is organised by Bob Wilson’s Funfairs in partnership with Birmingham City Council.

The popular ice rink and big wheel will be open in Centenary Square until 1am.

Traffic restrictions will be in place along Broad Street as follows:

  • Broad Street, between Bridge Street and Paradise Circus, will be closed to traffic from 10.30pm to 12.30am.
  • Broad Street, between Gas Street and Paradise Circus, will be closed to traffic (including Bridge Street, which will be closed for the fireworks display) from 11.45pm to 12.15am.
