People wanting to know more about the forthcoming census were able to pose their questions to a team of advisors on a big purple bus - the star of the 2011 Census TV advertisements - when it stopped in Birmingham today (February 25).

The bus stopped in the city as part of a national tour, a “Journey of a Nation” in the build-up to national Census Day on March 27 2011.

The team on board included the area managers working in and around Birmingham, community advisers for the Caribbean, Indian and Chinese communities, as well as speakers of Punjabi, Hindi, Arabic, Urdu and Somali.

Amongst those to pop along was Stephen Hughes, Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council.

A photo gallery containing pictures from the event is now available on the Birminghamnewsroom Flickr feed.
