Do It Online

Whether you want to pay your council tax or council rent, claim benefits or book housing repairs, Birmingham City Council is urging residents to 'do it online' saving yourself time …. and the council money.

At the moment, the council receives around 2.2 million telephone calls a year and the contract the council has with its supplier is on a per call basis.  It's estimated that for every 5% customers who decide to switch to online services the council will save around £358k which can be used for frontline services.

The council's campaign to get residents to 'do it online' stresses the fact that you can pay council tax and rent bills, book bulky waste collections, report housing repairs and apply for benefits without the hassle of queues, appointments or telephone calls, 24 hours, seven days a week.
