Fleet and Waste workers vote to accept deal

Birmingham City Council response to the news that Fleet and Waste Management staff have accepted a deal to avoid further industrial action.

Cllr Alan Rudge, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Human Resources, said:  “We're grateful to the workforce for giving us the opportunity to present the offer and explain it to them.

“We are obviously pleased for the city that an agreement has now been reached that avoids further industrial action.

“The Council sincerely believes that the proposals for the future operating model for Fleet and Waste Management agreed by its Cabinet on 14th February, offer the best possible outcome for both our citizens and staff alike while bringing the service into line with equality laws.”
