Frankfurt Christmas Market Family Day

By on 05/12/2009 in News

Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market is the place to be for family fun today, with the second of our Family Days.

There will be a range of special offers on Saturday December 5 (10am to 4pm) with family activities, a Secret Santa Hunt, Christmas elves and a magician.

Birmingham Central Library's Centre for the Child will also host a programme of children's activities throughout the day.

Now in its ninth year, the Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest authentic German market held anywhere in the world outside Germany and Austria.

Staged in Victoria Square and New Street, the Frankfurt Christmas Market features traditional stalls offering handmade toys, Christmas decorations, jewellery, clothing and craft goods.

Visitors can also enjoy the delights of German mulled wine (Glühwein), grilled sausages, pretzels, German beer, gingerbread, stollen, crepes and marzipan sweets.

The market will also once again incorporate a Christmas Craft Fair, featuring a selection of beautiful hand-crafted items created by local artisans, as well as ethnic goods imported from all over the world.
