Fun and fitness at the newly refurbished centre

Birmingham families now have the opportunity to mix fun and fitness at the newly refurbished council-run Small Heath Leisure Centre.

The new kitted-out Centre has received investment as part of an improvement package and now offers a wide range of activities for all the family to participate in.

For those who are keen to keep fit, or would like to try a new sport there is plenty of choice, as the Centre showcases a range of sporting activities which include:
Water polo
Football sessions
Dance classes
Synchronised swimming
Bhangra burn-off
Circuit training and

Cllr Yvonne Mosquito, District Chair Ladywood, said: “The Centre is at the heart of the community and provides opportunities for local people to get fit and stay healthy.

“I am pleased that we have been able to find the resources to invest in this local facility, which be will be hugely beneficial to local people and those who live in the surrounding areas.

“We would like to emulate the success of the Birmingham Youth Sports Academy who organise coaching and competition for local youngsters.  Their input in the community is immeasurable in terms of what they give to young people in the area.”
