Green recycling reminder

By on 11/12/2013 in News

The council's green (garden) recycling collection service has now ended for the 2013 growing season.

Householders are reminded that if they have any green recycling during the winter, they should take it to one of the council's five Household Recycling Centres until the resumption of the service in February 2014.

From next year, the service becomes an opt-in chargeable one at an annual cost of £35.

The 2014 service will begin in the fortnight commencing February 24. Exact details of collection days for those subscribing will be sent out in information packs nearer to the date.

Residents interested in subscribing to the service for 2014 can obtain a £2 discount by ordering online, bringing the cost down to just £33.

Households can have more than one green recycling wheelie bin if they wish but must have enough space on their property to store it and will have to pay for each additional wheelie bin.

Sacks will only be provided to residents whose properties are determined during the purchase process as not suitable for a wheelie bin.
