Green waste collections suspended for winter

By on 13/11/2012 in News

Green waste collections will, as usual, be temporarily suspended during the winter by Birmingham City Council.

Past trends show that citizens tend to garden less during the winter months and produce less green waste, but anyone who still wishes to dispose of green waste can take it to their Household Recycling Centre or consider switching to a more sustainable solution – such as composting their own garden waste and kitchen vegetables.

The last green waste collection will take place on the fortnightly cycle starting Monday 26 November and will resume from Monday 25 February 2013.

Compost bins can be purchased from www.birmingham.getcomposting.com or by calling 0845 130 6090.
