Archaeology fans are set for a treat later this week as spectacular new images of the world famous Staffordshire Hoard are unveiled.

678 HorseyBirmingham Museum and Art Gallery experts will reveal the new photographs on Friday (23 March) as they take part in a live webchat, answering questions about the Hoard conservation project.

BMAG curators Dr David Symons and Dr Morn Capper will be taking questions for an hour from 4pm and expect to take questions from around the world.

Birmingham City Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture, Cllr Martin Mullaney, said: “From day one, the global interest in the Hoard has been phenomenal.

“Over 50,000 people paid to see this unique collection in Washington recently and we get emails from people across the world every day, asking questions about this remarkable discovery.

“So we thought it would be a great idea to set aside some time where two of our experts can answer questions and update the public on this remarkable story.

“We'll also be sharing fantastic new images of a number of Hoard artefacts for the very first time.”
