Latest service reviews launched today

Birmingham City Council today made the latest in a series of announcements about the Service Reviews.

Green papers have been released containing details of the two Reviews below.

A Well Managed and Resilient City

This review covered services which support the proper regulation of commercial and social life in the city:

  • Bereavement Services
  • Mortuary/ Coroner's Office
  • Registrar's Office
  • Licensing
  • Traffic Management and Regulation
  • On Street Parking and Enforcement
  • Trading Standards
  • Environmental Health
  • Birmingham City Laboratory (BCL)
  • Emergency Planning (incl. Control Centre/ CCTV)
  • Planning Administration and Management and Local Land Charges

Support Services 2

The review looked at functions necessary to run the council as a business which were not covered in the first Support Services review earlier in the year:

  • Civic Catering
  • Building Cleaning
  • Services Management (e.g. Building Security)
  • Customer Services
  • Professional Support Services (PSS)

The review of internal charging is still going on and will report later in the year.
