Let your precious metal collection shine

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is giving collectors the chance to show off their treasured objects in the museum at a special Collectors Day from 10am - 5pm on Saturday 27 August.

Collectors can book a table to show off their collection during the event for just £10.  The collection does not need to be related to music, but must be small enough to fit on a trestle table.

For more information and an application form, please contact Julia Kirby on julia.kirby@birmingham.gov.uk or 0121 303 2836.

Collectors Day takes place within the Home of Metal exhibition and gives people the chance to display their varied collections to others.  Many of the objects in the Home of Metal exhibition are from cherished collections and have been kept hidden away for many years waiting for the chance to be shown off.  Collectors Day will broaden this out to show other collections.

Cllr Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure Sport and Culture said:  “Collectors Day will be a fascinating event for anyone with an interest in collecting.  Collections come in all shapes and sizes but are united by the enthusiasm of the collectors themselves. This event will give visitors to the museum the chance to share in the passion of these collectors and hear the inspiration behind their collections.”
