Local elections 2014 – background briefing pack

Birmingham City Council is staging a local election on May 22. In addition to the 40 seats scheduled to be up for election, two councillors will be elected for the Sutton Trinity Ward following the resignation of former councillor Philip Parkin. That means 41 seats are being contested.

Polls will be open 7am - 10pm with counting taking place immediately and results expected to be declared from midnight.

We’ll be using the hashtag #brumvotes14 throughout the election.
