Lyndhurst maisonettes to be demolished

Photo call- Opportunity for media to attend the start of demolition on block of maisonettes on the Lyndhurst estate with Councillor John Lines, Cabinet Member for Housing. The works represent another key milestone in the regeneration of the Lyndhurst Estate and surrounding areas of Erdington.

Time and date 3-4pm, Tuesday 8 June 2010
Place 28-66 Rowden Drive, Erdington

Last year the council secured £100 million Housing PFI credits for the regeneration of the area. The redevelopment scheme will deliver up to 600 new homes, including new council housing and homes for shared ownership and outright sale. A new neighbourhood park with play facilities is also planned, alongside youth centres and a new health centre. Improved access to rail network and public transport will also be provided.
