Media Invite: Faith Map Launch

Members of the media are invited to the launch of Birmingham's Faith Map, which will for the first time provide residents and visitors with the locations of more than 650 places of worship across the city.

Cllr Alan Rudge, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Human Resources, will launch the online map and the Rt. Revd. David Urquhart, the Bishop of Birmingham, will deliver an address.

When: 11am, Tuesday 22 November 2011

Where: Birmingham Cathedral, Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2QB

OpenStreetMap contains hundreds of places of worship in it for Birmingham, as can be seen from this Birmingham Faith Map I just made in the past hour or so whilst watching Children In Need: http://www.dracos.co.uk/scribblings/faith-map/ (it has a couple of thousand pins, so might take a short while to load).

    It would be great if the data collected as part of this project could be added to OpenStreetMap, if OpenStreetMap is missing any of it, so that everyone can benefit. Can the data behind this map be released?
