Brum joins World Cup city host bid (Birmingham Mail) Birmingham Bid Cttee lodged an online submission to the FA yesterday, detailing why it would be a strong host city should England be successful in their bid to host  the World Cup 2018.  Cllr Whitby quoted.

Disgust as houses given green light (Birmingham Mail, 10 July) Harborne residents disappointed as the Planning Cttee gave the go ahead, by a majority vote, for the building of 16 houses on Ravenscroft Road, at the heart of the Moor Pool Estate conservation area. Cllr D Alden quoted in support of the residents.
