Looking for a day out with a difference next weekend? Then head for this summer's Museum Collections Centre Open Day on Sunday August 23 (11am-6pm).

Attractions at the family fun day include: donkey rides, a magnificent large steam traction engine, vintage cars and motorbikes, model steam engines and a mini-roundabout for youngsters.

And the excitement continues inside the Museum Collections Centre, with an amazing array of objects and artefacts including bicycles, old industrials machinery, cars and motorbikes, sewing and washing machines.

The 160,000 square ft Collections Centre, based at 25 Dollman Street, Nechells, is part of Birmingham City Council's Museum Service.

Travel to the open day in style. Aston Manor Transport Museum will offer a vintage bus service from Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (Edmund Street) to the Museum Collections Centre.

For more information about both of the open days, a bus timetable or a map of the Museum Collections Centre, please visit www.bmag.org.uk or call 0121 303 2834.
