Cllr Tristan Chatfield is the new Cabinet Member for Transparency, Openness and Equality.
He was elected as a Councillor for the Oscott Ward in May 2012.
He was previously chair of the Audit Committee.
Cllr Chatfield said: “It’s an honour to be joining the cabinet and I look forward to serving the people of Birmingham in my new role as Cabinet Member for Transparency, Openness and Equality.”
