Birmingham pupils:

13,426 Birmingham pupils applied to transfer to secondary school

50,524 preferences were expressed

9,495 (73.3%) applications were made on-line

12,709 (94.7%) were offered one of their preferred schools
• 9,177 (68.4%) were offered their first preferred school

• 1,542 (11.5%) were offered their second preferred school

• 793 (5.9%) were offered their third preferred school

• 567 (4.2%) were offered their fourth preferred school

• 367 (2.7%) were offered their fifth preferred school

• 263 (2%) were offered their sixth preferred school

717 (5.3%) were offered a school that was not one of their preferences

1,408 (10.5%) were offered a school outside Birmingham

Extra-district pupils:
1,935 pupils who live in another local authority applied for a place at a Birmingham school

3,623 preferences were expressed
• 398 (20.6%) were offered their first preferred school

• 82 (4.2%) were offered their second preferred school

• 42 (2.2%) were offered their third preferred school

• 27 (1.4%) were offered their fourth preferred school

• 16 (0.8%) were offered their fifth preferred school

• 6 (0.3%) were offered their sixth preferred school
571 (29.5%) pupils who live in another local authority were offered a Birmingham school
All pupils:
15,361 pupils applied to transfer to secondary school

54,147 preferences were expressed
• 9,575 (62.3%) were offered their first preferred school

• 1,624 (10.6%) were offered their second preferred school

• 835 (5.4%) were offered their third preferred school

• 594 (3.9%) were offered their fourth preferred school

• 383 (2.5%) were offered their fifth preferred school

• 269 (1.8%) were offered their sixth preferred school

13,280 (86.5%) pupils were offered one of their preferred schools
