Secondary school intake - offers at 2 March 2015
Today is national day of offer of secondary school places. Birmingham City Council’s school admissions and pupil placements team has offered advice and guidance to parents/carers and pupils and has processed over 15,000 applications for secondary school places.

56,235 preferences were expressed
11,440 (82.5%) applications were made on-line*
10,016 (68.5%) were offered their first preferred school
1,863 (12.7%) were offered their second preferred school
864 (5.9%) were offered their third preferred school
473 (3.2%) were offered their fourth preferred school
275 (1.9%) were offered their fifth preferred school
170 (1.2%) were offered their sixth preferred school
13,661 (93.4%) were offered one of their preferred schools
964 (6.6%) were offered a school that was not one of their preferences
1,609 (11%) were offered a school outside Birmingham
507* SEN pupils and 257 late applicants cannot apply online
Extra district pupils
1,812 pupils who live in another local authority applied for a place at a Birmingham school
3,388 preferences were expressed
434 (24%) were offered their first preferred school
107 (5.9%) were offered their second preferred school
48 (2.6%) were offered their third preferred school
26 (1.4%) were offered their fourth preferred school
9 (0.5%) were offered their fifth preferred school
2 (0.1%) were offered their sixth preferred school
626 (34.5%) pupils who live in another local authority who applied for a Birmingham school were offered a Birmingham school
