Dozens of budding tennis stars of the future took part in a coaching session at Cotteridge Park on Saturday (June 5).

The fledging Federers who took park in the event at the city council park also got to meet former Wimbledon Ladies champion Maria Sharapova, who popped along to check out a graffiti mural depicting her.

The piece of art was produced by local youngsters as part of a project which has enabled them to produce legal graffiti on areas within Cotteridge Park.

As a result of creating the dedicated areas, the problem of graffiti in other areas of the park has been virtually eliminated, with none reported on a play area that opened two years ago.
