Many of you have been logging onto the Big Blank Canvas ( to share ideas for Birmingham’s UK City of Culture bid.

This is just a selection of the most recent contributions and we want to hear from you.

Georgina: A collaborative art event, where an entire area is covered with an image which the people of birmingham could download parts of and customise and then bring them all together as a huge collective image.

Brenda Addison: Events in the parks across the city, something to celebrate the languages of the city, a Food Fest

Mike Olley: Birmingham is the home of league football. This is the most recognisable association of sport on planet earth. The role of Birmingham as the inventor of the system of modern game should be celebrated.

Philip: series of street events - like art fest but all year. a food festival and beer/wine festival.

Abdul Khan: Celebrate the diverse culutures we have in birmingham, by having a day of organised events from dancing, food, clothes and differecnt relgions next to each other to show the people of Brum and outsiders what Birmingham is made up of.

The website invites members of the public to share their ideas for the City of Culture bid.

If Birmingham is shortlisted, a formal bid must then be submitted and organisers want the people of Birmingham to have their say.
