More than 12,000 people turned out to take part in Birmingham’s St George’s Day celebrations in Chamberlain Square yesterday (Saturday 24th April).

The free event organised by Birmingham City Council and Birmingham St George’s Day Association coincided with the warmest day of the year so far.

The centre piece this year was a battle reenactment between Anglo-Saxons and Vickings in Chamberlain Square.

A host of other new and traditional activites around the city centre were also part of the festivities.
