Syrian refugees – June 2016 update

By on 13/06/2016 in News

Birmingham City Council welcomed a family of four refugees under the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation scheme today (Monday 13 June).

They are the final group to arrive in Birmingham as part of the initial 50 refugees that the city council, with cross-party support, committed to taking back in September 2015.

The group, a mother with two sons and a daughter, arrived earlier today.

Refugee Action, an organisation with a long history of supporting refugees in the UK, will once again be helping to integrate the new arrivals into their new homes in Birmingham, as was the case with the previous groups.
